Apple Crisp

Ingredients:

  • 2 lb. bag Apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

For the Crumble:

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup butter, cubed
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg

Rinse and drain sliced apples, then place in large pot adding sugar and cinnamon. Cook on low stirring occasionally until tender. Drain most of the liquid off and poor into glass baking dish. Mix all the crumble ingredients and spread evenly over cooked apples. Place a cookie sheet lined with foil on the top oven rack and the baking dish on top of that, to prevent drips in the oven. Bake at 350 for 35 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 15 minutes. Remove and let cool 30 minutes before serving. Serve warm and add a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired.
