Joseph Halberstadt: Photographer

Joseph Halberstadt is an award winning wildlife and nature photographer who now resides in New Paris Ohio. Closing his studio and retiring six years ago he reconnected with his first love “Mother Nature”. His goal then and still is to show people the beauty they can find in their own backyard. Although Joseph has traveled to some far off places, with camera in hand, the majority of his work is produced within a fifty mile area of his home.

If you are in the Richmond, Indiana area stop by E street Salvage on Elm Place behind New Boswell and check out some of his framed photos that are for sale.

Holly’s Hobby: Crochet/Recycling/Donating

I met Holly several years ago and we were both avid crocheters. We brought our projects to work and shared what we were doing, spending our breaks working on them. I had discovered crocheting with used plastic grocery bags as a way of recycling and Holly joined me in creating different bags, beach bags and purses. Since then Holly has been donating much of her creations to various local charities through her grandmother’s church. She has also sold them in the past, to raise money for various charitable causes. One of the things that Holly has been working on this year is blankets for Covid-19 babies and her grandmothers church is helping A Better Way and Salvation Army as well as Operation Christmas Child (which sends shoe boxes to children all around the world).
